Joint Forces for Solar Initiative – 4th Breakfast Briefing in Dallas, TX

November 10, 2011 § Leave a comment

During Solar Power International 2011, SES 21 USA was again a sponsor of the Joint Forces for Solar Initiative.

Solar installers from all over the country had a chance to listen to latest solar energy industry news and trends provided by EUPD Research and representatives of the industry. Among the panelists, Chet Boortz, our CEO. With a strong background in the Texan market and a clear understanding where this market should head in order to demonstrate a secure business environment for existing and new solar installers, Chet Boortz was able to present Texas as one of the leading solar energy markets of the future. Stressing the importance of the development of residential and small commercial installations, Chet Boortz re-enforced the goal of SES 21 USA: Being a partner in a growing solar energy industry in Texas and the United States.

13 Residential Solar Systems for Habitat for Humanity Houses in Dallas

September 21, 2011 § 2 Comments

To demonstrate the power of the Texas sun and the potential of solar energy as a big part of our energy supply, SES 21 USA has joined with Habitat for Humanity, Bosch Solar Energy, and Schletter Mounting Systems to make a great charity project come true.

13 Habitat for Humanity houses in Dallas are going to receive free solar energy systems on their roofs. The complete solar energy system consists of four panels and are estimated to produce about 1291 kWh of free electricity annually. Customers of SES 21 USA who have used Bosch Solar Energy panels on their installs in the Dallas / Fort Worth area told us that the power output is quite likely to be 10 to 20 percent higher than the estimation.

During a first educational evening 13 families were provided information about solar energy in general and how solar systems could help reduce their electricity bills.

The installation is scheduled to take place shortly.

Chet Boortz, CEO of SES 21 USA, commented

It’s a privilege to work in cooperation with an organization the stature of Habitat for Humanity.  Dallas Habitat does such outstanding work and builds these homes to exacting efficiency standards.  The addition of even small-scale grid-tied PV systems provides meaningful savings to homeowners that often pay the highest electricity rates in deregulated retail markets.   It’s a perfect fit.

  • Bosch Solar Friend available to download for free

Bosch Solar Energy now has an app available for iPhone and iPad, which allows users to analyse solar yields just by putting their phone on the roof. This is a great way to give residential and commercial prospects a quick and easy estimation of the economics of a PV solar installation using Bosch Solar Energy products.

Bosch Solar Friend - iPhone and iPad App

Excerpt from iTunes Store:

Bosch Solar Friend – Seek the sun and start a solar friendship that works worldwide!

Saving energy costs and simultaneously helping to protect the environment – not possible? Think again and look no further than your roof.

The new Bosch Solar Friend helps you analyze your rooftop conditions and determine the best system for solar power generation at any location worldwide.

Bosch Solar Friend makes it really easy to estimate the average annual energy yield that can be expected when installing Bosch solar modules on your rooftop. Simply align your iPhone with your roof, and you are done – all relevant parameters are automatically determined using the internal functions of your iPhone (like compass and GPS). For comparison with other locations, a manual input is possible as well.

By additionally specifying your roof size and the operation time of the system, you will also get information on the ideal number of modules, the overall energy yield over operation time, the total earnings for your country (depending on your FiT´s) and the amount of CO2 saved by your photovoltaic system.

There is more: the Bosch Solar Friend also leads you directly to special sales contacts, shows references of Bosch Solar Energy projects and helps you contact Bosch via website, telephone and Facebook.

NOTE: The use of Bosch Solar Friend is not intended to replace a detailed planning procedure by a qualified installer. Special local environment conditions such as trees, buildings and other shadowing obstacles may alter the actual possible energy yield. The given revenue data represent approximate values for shadow-free systems.
